Who Can Join SDGDC HL

SDGDC HL is open to high school students competing in curriculum-based editions. Each edition targets a specific curriculum group. Here is what you need to know before registering.

Active edition — IGCSE & O Level

The current open edition is for IGCSE and O Level students, run by NGN India. To enter this edition, at least the majority of your team should be currently studying the IGCSE or O Level curriculum.

Team requirements

Team size: 4 to 6 members. No solo entries.

Curriculum: At least the majority of the team must be students in the target curriculum for the edition they are entering.

School enrolment: All team members should be currently enrolled in a school or institution.

Age: Standard high school age range for the relevant curriculum. Specific age limits will be confirmed on the registration form.

Coming editions

Editions for the following curricula are planned and will open after the IGCSE & O Level Edition concludes:

  • IBDP & A Level — run by NGN UK
  • US State Boards & AP — run by NGN USA

Dates for these editions will be announced when Round 1 of the IGCSE & O Level Edition is complete.

No experience required

You do not need prior experience in coding, design, engineering, or any specific technical field. SDGDC HL is about problem-solving and building — your team will figure out the approach together. Any tools are allowed, so your existing skills — whatever they are — are a valid starting point.

Not sure if you qualify?

If you are unsure whether you or your team meet the eligibility criteria for the active edition, reach out through the Contact page to NGN India. They will clarify any questions before you register.
